Imaging data and services for aquatic science
Applications based on artificial intelligence (AI) can help keep our waters clean. Specifically, AI apps can support water pollution mitigation efforts as well as beach monitoring and biodiversity loss studies in aquatic environments. The EU-funded iMagine project will provide a selection of free at the point of use image datasets, AI-empowered high-performance image analysis tools, and best practice documents for scientific image analysis. These services and materials enable better processing and analysis for imaging marine and freshwater data. The project will build on the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) to deliver a generic scheme for AI model development, training, and deployment to refine AI-based applications for water pollution monitoring and facilitate the development and optimisation of other AI-based applications.
